PHILADELPHIA, PA, UNITED STATES - Oct 19, 2015 - ERT, the leading cloud platform solutions provider delivering clinical and scientific innovation through its patient-centric data collection and intelligence solutions today announced that several prototypes from its Innovation Lab are now available for public demonstrations. The Boston-based Innovation Lab continuously explores pervasive telemetry for clinical research and broad clinical care.

The objective of the ERT Innovation Lab is to reduce risk while helping pharmaceutical companies and CROs meet clinical trial objectives more efficiently and reliably. Technology vendors and biopharmaceutical organizations partner with ERT clinical scientists and developers to rapidly conceive and test prototypes for implementation. Although most Innovation Lab projects remain under strict non-disclosure, ERT is able to offer public demonstrations of select concepts in development, including:

  • Biosensor with Fall Detection and Pulse Rate Diary Integration
  • Electronic Clinical Outcome Assessment (eCOA) Study Designer for Rapid Prototyping
  • CleverCap™ Medication Dispensing Integration

“Our broad goal in operating the Innovation Lab is to expand the art of the possible for pharmaceutical research,” said James Munz, Vice President of Innovation at ERT. “By enabling industry to leverage the Innovation Lab with minimal risk and rapid prototype deployment, we hope to remove barriers, enable researchers to embrace new medical technologies and foster an environment for researchers to think more broadly about how to evaluate the complete patient experience during clinical development.”

The advantages of risk-sharing and examples of how ERT Innovation Lab concepts are actively improving electronic patient data collection are the subject of a chapter in an eBook published October 14 by Applied Clinical Trials. The eBook, “Patient and Clinician Reported Outcomes in Clinical Trials” can be accessed via ERT’s Resource Center at www.ert.com/publications.
