PHT Releases New Patient Reported Outcomes Tool

April 24, 2012 | PHT Corporation has announced the newest version of StudyWorks, its online clinical trial management system. The new release includes dashboards that display secure and configurable, quick-read highlights of the most relevant information for a given role and enhanced performance and scalability for global mega trials.
StudyWorks version 4.16 helps sites better manage clinical trial patients, says Sheila Rocchio, PHT’s vice president of marketing. “Real time monitoring of each patient’s participation and adherence to the study allows the site to quickly identify when a patient might need some extra attention or assistance to stay with the trial,” she explains. “If the site finds any needed data corrections, investigators can submit the request online—no faxing and phoning needed. Data-driven email alerts keep sites aware of important data submitted by each patient between visits.”
Systems like StudyWorks will become even more useful as clinical trial patients participate in trials more independently. “Patient reported data and trial participation metrics will become crucial to siteless trials,” says Rocchio, referring to trials where most, if not all, of the patient interaction is done electronically. “Systems like StudyWorks will become the access point to understanding what the patient is experiencing during the trial. They’ll provide a platform to interact with the patient and their data.”
PHT has been routinely updating StudyWorks. Last year the company introduced SmartReports and SmartReports Mobile, the first ePRO smartphone application, to give site monitors instant drill-down access to all site and subject compliance data anytime, anywhere without opening a laptop. StudyWorks v4.17 will likely be released in the fall of 2012 and will debut a new module.
