February 6, 2014 | The IMS Institute for Healthcare Informatics has released a report on the social media habits of pharmaceutical companies, and among their findings was that physicians and patients alike consult Wikipedia for medical information more than any other source. Wikipedia pages that saw especially high use tended to be those on rare conditions, with which both patients and providers are likely to have limited familiarity.
