Dr. Yafit Stark to be a KCR honored guest at BioForum 2014

Teva's Vice-President will be a keynote speaker at the biotechnology forum sponsored by KCR, European Contract Research Organization

WARSAW, POLAND - May 19, 2014 - Warsaw - 19 May 2014 - Dr. Yafit Stark, Vice President, Global Clinical Advisor at Teva, a leading global generic and specialty pharmaceutical company, will join the upcoming BioForum 2014 as a keynote speaker on a special invitation of KCR, European Contract Research Organization (CRO). BioForum is a major biotechnological conference in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and it will take place on 28-29 May 2014 in Lodz, Poland.

"Today the CEE region plays a significant role in many clinical trial strategies for many companies. The medical and research infrastructure is ideally suited for clinical drug development," said Dr. Yafit Stark.

KCR President & CEO, Mike Jagielski, adds: "The CEE region draws international pharma companies' attention thanks to its cost-effectiveness and excellent medical standards. Additionally, focusing on new technologies and processes will optimize conducting clinical research and raise trials' efficiency. KCR's successful growth in the CEE region and our expansion to Western Europe is a great example that providing high quality services can result in creating a win-win relationship between Pharma/Biotech and CRO. However, becoming a 'first choice' location to host clinical studies still requires changing limited perception about the CEE region. The newly emerging regional biotechnology sector will definitely help raising the CEE picture."

KCR is pleased to welcome Dr. Stark as an honored guest at BioForum. She has been a pioneer in global clinical research and established the Innovative Research & Development (R&D) Division of Teva in the U.S. She was also responsible for the clinical development program of several successful innovative products, such as the blockbuster MS therapy, Copaxone. "Innovation is the lifeblood of biotechnology. The Israeli model, supporting innovation through incubators, has proven itself to be highly successful, and represents a model approach for other regions," adds Dr. Stark.

Dr. Stark's BioForum keynote speech on "Innovations vs Stagnation: Challenges and Opportunities for the Bio and Medical Communities" will take place on 29 May 2014.

KCR's top representatives, Mike Jagielski, CEO, Anna Baran, VP and Chief Medical Officer, and Marek Kiecana, Chairman of KCR's Supervisory Board will also be present on BioForum. The KCR's panel entitled "Advantages of Execution of Bio-similar and Bio-equivalent Studies in the CEE Region" will be held on the first day of the event.
