Apple's Health Data Platform Picking Up Partnerships
August 14, 2014 | Apple has previously announced that HealthKit, its integrated platform for health data designed to merge with electronic health records (EHRs) and other hospital informatics systems, will launch with partnerships with both EHR industry leader Epic Systems and the Mayo Clinic. Now, details are emerging of other potential partnerships, including with Epic competitor Allscripts, and large providers including Kaiser Permanente, Mount Sinai, the Cleveland Clinic, and Johns Hopkins. All are looking for ways to connect their proprietary systems with the patient-facing Health app, which will be bundled with iOS 8 and the iPhone 6. Reuters
