Clinical Informatics News Opens 2015 Best Practices Awards

By Clinical Informatics News Staff

September 5, 2014 | Last year's inaugural Clinical Informatics News Best Practices Awards came at an auspicious time for innovations in the clinical trial process. As sponsors, vendors, and research sites are adapting to a world of greater global connectivity and new regulatory models, the industry is growing more creative in developing solutions that improve trial results, while containing costs and becoming more responsive to the needs of trial participants. Projects recognized in our first Best Practices Awards included a completely virtual clinical trial, a platform that brings validated data capture to remote areas, and a digital network uniting research sites to improve quality.

Now, Clinical Informatics News is pleased to announce that submissions for our second annual Best Practices Awards are open. The awards program will continue to recognize outstanding examples of applied strategic innovation—partnerships, platforms, and new approaches that measurably improve the clinical trial process. The deadline for entry is December 12, 2014, and submissions received before November 14 will have their entry fees waived. Winners will be announced during a special ceremony at the Summit for Clinical Ops Executives (SCOPE) in Orlando in February 2015.

“The clinical operations space is full of excellent examples of collaboration,” said Clinical Informatics News editor Allison Proffitt. “We are excited about the opportunity to recognize these collaborations across the industry, and highlight the most exceptional examples at SCOPE.”

Entries will be accepted from across the clinical trials landscape, and are encouraged to highlight customer success stories and case studies that demonstrate a project's benefit to partners. The work for which recognition is sought must have been done in the last two years and be substantially complete.

The entries will be judged by Clinical Informatics News editors and a panel of expert judges. Nominations are open to R&D and scientific facilities and labs in pharmaceutical companies, biotech companies, academia, government, medical or related institutions and organizations, as well as public and private research organizations.
