FDA clears BioGamings Microsoft Kinect-based physiotherapy software
February 10, 2016 | In another health application for Microsoft's Kinect platform, BioGaming has received FDA clearance for its YuGo Microsoft Kinect-based physical therapy system. YuGo lets physiotherapists create personalized physical therapy routines for patients who complete them at home using an Xbox or Kinect device. Kinect tracks patients' movements, creating a record of the therapy. FDA issued its approval last Friday; unfortunately the BioGaming's company status is unclear. MobiHealthNews was unable to reach the company for comment and the website is down. BioGaming isn't the only group taking advantage of Microsoft's technology. Researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine are using Kinect technology for better X-rays.
