Nicholas Marko on Clinical Care, Health IT

March 22, 2016 In his ongoing series of conversations with medical informatics experts, David Harlow at HealthBlawg talks with Nicholas Marko, Chief Data Officer at Geisinger Health System. Harlow and Marko discussed the points of contact between clinical care and health IT. Marko’s focus is on, “bridging the gap between parallel silos of health information across multiple EHRs at Geisinger while at the same time ensuring that data from beyond the health care encounters — data that represents the bulk of patients’ lives — can be integrated with clinical data in order to yield actionable information.” Marko will be speaking at the Medical Informatics World conference in Boston, April 4-5. (For more details on Marko’s work at Geisinger, Clinical Informatics News recently spoke with him about the Geisinger and UC Berkeley Collider Project.)
