ERT Acquires Exco InTouch

By Clinical Informatics News Staff

December 8, 2016 | ERT announced this morning that it has acquired Exco InTouch. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

ERT has focused on patient data collection solutions for use in clinical drug development, particularly eClinical Outcome Assessments (eCOA). In May of 2015, the company acquired PHT to expand beyond eCOA to clinical insights. Exco InTouch specializes in patient engagement and data capture, specifically innovative ways to reach patients including text message.

The combined organization will support the full clinical development-to-commercialization spectrum—from early phase to market—and minimize sponsor risk, run safer and more efficient programs, and get new clinical treatments to patients more quickly, according to an ERT statement announcing the acquisition.

“With this acquisition, we have combined our science-driven solutions that are delivered across every modality with patient-driven solutions that open up the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) market to create a seamless approach to eCOA, patient engagement and digital health,” said James Corrigan, President and CEO, ERT, in the statement. “Exco InTouch has a great history of innovation, and since its inception has made significant contributions to the eClinical landscape. We are delighted to welcome them to the ERT team, and look forward to working together to deliver market-leading offerings that solve our clients’ most complex challenges.”
