Rho Experts Offer Free Webinar on Mitigating COVID-19 through Hybrid Decentralized Clinical Trials
WHAT: Rho, a full-service contract research organization (CRO) that helps pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies bring their products to market through high-quality clinical research services, will share best practices and solutions to help sponsors get the most out of their hybrid, virtual and synthetic clinical trials in an upcoming webinar, “Mitigating COVID-19 through a hybrid decentralized clinical trials approach.” The webinar will take place on Wednesday, October 7, from 1-2 p.m. EST.
Rho’s Associate Director of Clinical Management Marina Acosta Enslen, Senior Project Manager Nick Poulson and Clinical Team Lead Fran Sawyer will present the webinar, which will discuss what risks and challenges COVID-19 has presented the industry, as well as the ways in which these can be addressed, specifically with a focus on decentralized trials.
WHO: Marina Acosta Enslen, associate director, clinical management at Rho, is a diversely skilled clinical research professional with 20 years of experience across Phase 1-4 studies. Prior to joining Rho, Marina held positions in the areas of clinical monitoring, site level study coordination, site start-up and clinical study management. She has extensive experience working on a variety of therapeutic areas, including regional and global HIV, Oncology, Acute Pain and Vaccine clinical trials. Nearly half of her career has been focused in HIV/AIDS research working on NIH and industry funded clinical trials.
Nick Poulson, senior project manager at Rho, has eight years of clinical trial experience managing, monitoring and coordinating Phase 2-4 clinical trials across various therapeutic areas, including pain. He received his doctorate Degree in Cell Biology with a focus on cell division and the cell cycle from Duke University. With this experience also comes expertise in managing at-home reported assessments via paper diaries and ePRO devices to ensure timely and accurate reporting by subjects. Additionally, he has a strong understanding of clinical trial management and delivery requirements that has allowed him to successfully lead teams to meet timeline deliverables for various multi-center trials.
Fran Sawyer, clinical team lead at Rho, has over 13 years of industry experience, including serving as a lead on a Vaccine, Cardiovascular, Pain, COPD and Osteoarthritis trials. Her other study indications include high risk vascular disease and lowering LDL, atrial fibrillation, asthma, graft versus host, breast cancer and sickle cell disease. She joined Rho in 2014 and is a seasoned leader with training and mentoring experience. Fran has a strong understanding of clinical trial management and delivery requirements that has allowed her teams to successfully meet data timeline deliverables for various multi-center trials. She is also adept in all aspects of GCPs, regulatory requirements and site management. Fran earned her Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University in Raleigh.
