Expanded Offering of Fatty Amines for Diverse Applications

During the past few years, the fatty amine market has grown at an accelerated pace. In order to facilitate scientists research work on fatty amines, earlier this month, Alfa Chemistry announced the offering of a large variety of fatty amines, a subcategory of fatty compounds that have found end use in agrochemicals, oilfield chemicals, chemical processing, water treatment, asphalt additives, personal care, paints & coatings, building construction, and many other sectors.

Previously, Alfa Chemistry has launched a wide range of fatty acids and esters, glycerides, fatty alcohols, wax esters, sterols, and sphingolipids of high quality and aimed for research purposes.

Using fatty amines to produce quaternary ammonium salts is perhaps the most widespread application, said one of the senior scientists from Alfa Chemistry. Meanwhile, fatty amines, just like other nitrogen compounds, such as amides and imidazolines, can also function as antistats.

Fatty amines can be obtained by hydrogenation of fatty nitriles. Roughly, there are three major types of fatty amines:

Primary fatty amines

Primary fatty amines are most commonly used for the research and production of cationic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, asphalt emulsifiers, releasing agents, fuel additives, and sludge inhibitors.

Secondary fatty amines

Secondary fatty amines are rarely used directly and are used primarily to produce cationic and zwitterionic surfactant derivatives.

Tertiary fatty amines

Tertiary fatty amines are used as ore floatation, fuel additives, chemical intermediate, and corrosion inhibitors.

Below are some of the best-selling fatty amines at Alfa Chemistry:

Stearyldiethanolamine (CAS 10213-78-2), 3-(dibutylamino)propylamine (CAS 102-83-0), di(2-ethylhexyl)amine (CAS 106-20-7), trioctylamine (CAS 1116-76-3), dodecanamide (CAS 1120-16-7), decyl dimethylamine (CAS 1120-24-7), dodecylamine (CAS 124-22-1), octadecanamide (CAS 124-26-5), 1-aminotridecane (CAS 2869-34-3), n-3-erucylamidopropyl dimethylamine (CAS 60270-33-9), hydrogenated tallowamine (CAS 61788-45-2), cocoamine (CAS 61788-46-3), cocoalkyl dimethylamines (CAS 61788-93-0), tallowamine (CAS 61790-33-8), pentanamide (CAS 626-97-1), hexadecanamide (CAS 629-54-9), and many more.
